F.A.Q.

Do I need to make an appointment for drop off or fittings?
No, you can come in any time during open hours to drop off items and for a fitting come in anytime Wednesday - Saturday.  Fittings are free and pretty quick but that will depend on the type of clothing and the type of work is needed.

Should I wash my items before bringing them in?
Yes, please. Garments holding strong odors will be not accepted until they are laundered. If you have a pair of jeans that are starched, they will need to be laundered to remove the starch before I can work on them.

Do I need a fitting if I just need a hem?
You do not need a fitting if you either know how much in inches you would like taken up or if you place a safety pin on the item representing where you would like the finished hem to be. If you decide to have a fitting please keep in mind the type of shoes you plan on wearing with your items, sometimes that can affect the hem length.

Can you match the top stick on my Jeans?
I try to match the top stitching as close as possible. However, with some jeans with very thick and embellished top stitching ( like Miss Me) I do not completely recreate the thickness of the stitching.

What should I expect for my formal gown (bridal, bridesmaid, pageant, etc...) fitting?
Most formal gown fittings range from about 10 minutes to maybe 30 if there is a lot of different things need to be addressed.

For fittings requiring adjustments to the gown such as straps, bodice take in, or adding a corset back to allow the gown to be bigger, be prepared for at least a second fitting, sometimes even a third depending on the amount of areas of the gown we are changing and if a bustle is also needed.

When should I bring my gown in?
I recommend that you bring your wedding or bridesmaid dress in as soon as you get it.
Gown fittings may require more than one fitting to ensure the perfect fit.
Please bring your shoes, especially if you are wearing a heel, this ensures the hem will be accurate.
Bring any undergarments you're going to wear- a push up bra makes a huge difference in fit, as does a crinoline or shape wear. Adding these items after your dress has been fit may result in the dress needing to be altered (and paid for) a second time.

What's normal in a fitting?
Most dresses need to be hemmed (they're made for someone 5'10"ish usually) and often taken in a little as few of us truly fit into the size charts of any formal wear company.
It's always better to order a bigger size if you are between sizes, there is not always room to let the dress out. (We do LOVE a challenge, so if you have a gown, you just love but it's too small, we may be able to think outside of the box and come up with a custom altered creation!)
If it seems like a lot to take in, don't worry. It's ALWAYS easier to take in than let out.
We will also discuss if a bustle is needed as well as bra cups. (Bra cups do not provide support, just shaping and sometimes fill out the dress a little more.)

How will I Know my items are ready to pick up?

I will call you when your items are ready for pick up.

When do I pay:
You pay when you pick up your finished items. Cash, Credit, Debit only please.  I currently require a physical credit or debit card to take payments.

Please note:
Items left for 30 days after being notified  that the item is ready, will be considered abandoned and will become the property of Azle Alterations.

Custom Jobs
will require a signature at time of drop off to ensure full communication and understanding.

Mistakes.
I am human and will make mistakes. If I make a mistake I will absolutely own up to it and remedy the situation either by fixing the mistake or replacing the item.
However, I will require the item that was "wrong"  be brought in to me  before I give the replacement.
